The Treatment:

- Computer Monitor:
The DRX monitors the patient’s reaction at every step of the treatment. The motor in the DRX 9000 is from the same family of motors that are used in Tomahawk cruise missiles. These motors contain a feedback mechanism that allows the patient to be monitored at a rate of 17 times per second, so that in the case of any changes to the patient’s spine, or if the muscles tighten, the DRX will make instantaneous adjustments allowing for maximum decompression and relaxation of the patient’s muscles. This monitoring also ensures that the patient experiences maximum effectiveness at every treatment, and allows for virtually pain-free treatments. In fact, despite the pain that a patient may be experiencing when they first come to undergo treatment, they will often fall asleep during treatment. - Weigh Scales:
One of the main reasons that our decompression treatments are so effective is because they are specific to the individual and his/her condition. The weigh scales are used to customize the decompression to the weight load that the patient’s discs are accustomed to carrying. By doing so, the patient’s discs are easily able to adapt to the decompression treatments, and therefore respond more rapidly to treatment. - Level-Specific Controls:
With push-button controls, we are able to accurately address the problem area. In fact, the treatments are so precise, that 80 to 90% of the decompression force will be applied to the targeted area. This allows for maximum benefit and healing of the affected disc. - Reclining Bed:
During treatment, patients lie comfortably on their back. Laying the patient on his/her back is essential for complete comfort and effective decompression, and avoids backward or posterior rotation of the pelvis, which jams the joints and vertebrae. Patients are often so comfortable in this reclining position that they may fall asleep during their treatment. - Harness and Knee Support:
In order to completely isolate the damaged disc, and for optimum effectiveness, a support harness is used to stabilize the body. A knee support is also used for added comfort, but primarily to aid in the rotation of the pelvis, allowing for greatest joint separation and decompression, thus accelerating the healing process. - Table Separation Component:
Along with the decompression cable, table separation occurs to gap the joints and to gently stretch the disc to provide it with the greatest decompressive force. A vacuum effect is created that allows the disc herniation to be “sucked” back into its proper position, and/or bring nutrients into the disc to hydrate it, thus removing pressure from the nerve. - Decompression Cable:
The vertical moving decompression cable can be precisely positioned at a particular angle in order to direct the decompressive forces exactly onto the problematic area. This maximizes the effect of the treatment and accelerates the healing process. - Video Monitor:
A wide selection of documentaries, movies and relaxation videos are available for viewing by the patient on the video monitor during the treatment. Or, if the patient wishes, he/she may bring their own video to watch. - Hydraulic Lowering System:
The DRX 9000 is specially equipped with a hydraulic lowering system to slowly and gently lower the patient from a standing position to a reclining position for the treatment. - Cervical Spine Decompression Unit:
The cervical spine decompression unit is specifically designed for the treatment of neck issues. This unit is built with the same technological precision as the unit designed for lower back decompression treatments, and gives the same effective results and high success rate.
